Finding nontoxic shampoo is really, really hard. I know because I tried looking for one for literally years before deciding to formulate this one.
Sure, there's plenty of "sulfate free" options out there, but did you know that there are cleaning agents out there just as stripping as sulfates?
After frustration with supposedly "nontoxic" products that had crappy ingredients, other truly nontoxic that didn't leave me clean enough, and other ones that stripped way too much moisture, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
I spent years studying cosmetic chemistry and Ayurvedic herbalism to perfect our Fresh & Lively Shampoofor normal to oily hair and fine textures that get oily quickly and wash more frequently.
This formula gets you clean but never stripped of moisture thanks to non-foaming baby-safe cleaning agents. Don't worry, you're still getting clean even without the suds (despite what we were taught in the 80s and 90s)!
It also features softening aloe vera, oat milk, and chamomile tea to leave your hair silky and more manageable. You might find you need less conditioner after switching to this Shampoo.
Even better? It's fortified with Vitamin B5 and quinoa protein for your strongest, healthiest hair.
Sulfate-free. Silicone-free. Color safe. Curly Method approved.
1. Completely saturate your hair with water before washing. Our shampoos don't suds like their sulfate-containing counterparts, so plenty of water is essential to apply and evenly distribute your shampoo!
2. Put 2-5 pumps of shampoo into your palms and evenly distribute it. Go for a thin layer of product on your palms and fingers to ensure an even application across your whole scalp.
3. Massage shampoo into your scalp for 1 minute or so. Take your time - give yourself a nice scalp massage! IMPORTANT NOTE: apply shampoo to your scalp and roots only, that's what needs cleaning.
4. Let sit for 1-2 minutes. This allows our milder cleaning agents to do their job a bit better.
5. Rinse completely and thoroughly. Give yourself a minute to remove any traces of shampoo.

I have very fine straight hair that is extremely oily and lacks volume. I have been on medicated shampoos and tried all types of scrubs, but nothing has worked. When I started using this shampoo my hair was dried out and frizzy from everything that I'd tried, yet still oily. After only one wash I noticed a significant improvement to my hair texture and volume, as well as decreased oil. After about a month of consistent use I still have to wash daily, but my hair is definitely in much better shape. Highly recommend!
I've always had issues with my hair getting very greasy after a day of not washing and my ends being dry, tangled, and brittle. For reference, I have curly/wavy long hair. I was on a prescription shampoo because of my dry scalp and other skin concerns and had to use tons of conditioner. I decided to try using this shampoo and didn't have high hopes, but I followed Gabi's blog post about using sulfate-free shampoos to the letter. I've been using the shampoo for almost three weeks now and my hair and scalp have never felt healthier. I can go two days between washes now, my hair is hydrated from root to tip, and I have had zero issues with an itchy, flaky scalp. This shampoo is so effective that I realized I didn't even need to use conditioner anymore and stopped. I'm so happy with the outcome from this product. I will say that I have to use about 4-5 pumps of product per wash since it's a bit more on the watery end, but it's not an enormous volume by any means. I highly recommend!
I love the smell of this shampoo and have used it several times since getting it a couple of weeks ago. It is incredibly watery and you not only lose about half of it in your hand in the shower, but you need so much of it to actually saturate and clean your hair. I have had to use about 10 pumps of it per washing and my hair is medium length. Because it's so watery, it really takes about 4x as much of the product as regular shampoo to work on your hair. I am already more than halfway through a bottle after not quite 2 weeks and only using it every couple of days.
First of all the smell is amazing. It reminds me of lemon tea! It is very refreshing. It makes my hair feel very clean! Highly recommend!
I definitely recommend this product. I have tried MULTIPLE Natural and Eco Friendly products (local, and not) and have not been happy with any of them. THIS is different! It is used exactly like commercial shampoo and conditioner (no suds is normal, don't worry!) and after the first wash my hair felt and smelled so nice! It did take my hair about 2 weeks to fully adjust from the commercial products I had been using on almost a daily basis. I'm about to re-order and am so glad for this product! I also use the matching conditioner. (I have fine, straight-ish, medium length hair).
