As I look at the future of Bright Body, one thing I've been considering more is switching up our packaging. Single-use plastic isn't ideal, I know, though I have chosen BPA-free PET plastic that is recyclable.
When I launched Bright Body I decided on plastic for one main reason: I wanted all the products to have a uniform feel, and hair products in glass are kind of a no-go given the risk of broken glass in your shower. Of course, I could have planned skincare products in glass & haircare in plastic but again, I really wanted consistent packaging across the entire product line.
Now that I'm a year into Bright Body, I'm looking at making our operation a little greener, as long as that's something that you all would be interested in. In order to have consistent packaging across the line, I'd have to go with (mostly) aluminum packaging, with a few glass exceptions for our skincare products (e.g. moisturizers, exfoliant). Light like plastic, environmentally friendly like glass, but of course aluminum is more expensive. We would have to increase the price of our products BUT we would ALSO start a refill/rebate program if you send back your empty bottles/jars (or drop them off with us at markets). The rebate won't cover 100% of the increase in price since we will have to use new closures each time for the sake of product sterility.
Before we jump into any big packaging decisions, we want to hear from YOU. Please complete this one question survey and let us know your thoughts. Your opinion really matters!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!
